Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,
For Better Or For Worse

Holi-DeeWhat a long strange week it’s been. Tragedy, joy, an apocalypse thwarted…and another round of colds here at our house. But most of all, the quickest Holiday ever which arrived with very little pomp and circumstance and left just as quietly. I can’t say I minded in the least. For once I’m not digging my heels in to the end of a year and I’m actually looking forward to stepping in to the new one. New year new me? Only time will tell.

MagicI’m living the magic of Christmas for kiddos for the first time through Dee, and it’s pretty amazing to behold. She surprised me by getting in to the giving part…On Christmas eve upon learning that she’d see her cousin Avery, Dee grabbed her favorite bunny because she wanted to give”Abe-er-ee a present”.  (The getting part wasn’t lost on her either: Last night while the pumpkin pie plates were being collected she came in to the kitchen at Maegan’s and announced “I opened one hundred presents today. That was so fun. I opened one hundred presents” before walking off with a glazed look in her eye.)

18We got to celebrate this year at my sister-in-law’s in Lake Arrowhead, where she and her hubby are living on cloud nine in their new house enjoying their new small-town life. Seeing them so relaxed and happy makes me relaxed and happy, and also kind of makes me want to move to the mountains. {Also their house is awesome.}

    That was as much fun as watching little kids play soccer or listening to a fifth-grade band concert! (Both of which I totally love, by the way.) Thanks for sharing. I needed the burst of perk in my day!

Talk to me. Please. I'm almost always alone or with a toddler.
