Given her Daddy’s line of work, we knew lady George would be exposed to a high volume of Pups (and boy is she ever – we’re lucky this girl doesn’t think she’s a puppy!) so Don’t Lick the Dog was one of the first books we started reading her on the regular.  If you’ve got a puppy loving toddler, I’d recommend you get yourself a copy of this beautifully illustrated tome stat.

It’s raining.  Which means I’m happy.  It’s the coziest weather we get here in the ye olde eight-one-eight.  All day long I’ve been holed up with my family, and despite the cesspool of cold germs, it’s been one of the loveliest days I’ve had in a long time.

{In 1996 the title song of this post was playing on the radio when I won pit and backstage passes to go to a festival-type concert I had camped out to get tickets for and failed.  Jed the Fish was giving away tickets on the radio to the highest bidder…meaning – you had to do something super fucked up to win…like tell your Mom you were pregnant…at 14.   For some reason I didn’t have to do anything at all, but MAN, the winning, the concert, and the backstage experience that followed remains one of the greatest memories of my teenage life. I gotta find those pictures.}
