Beach Volleyball phenom Kerri Walsh Jennings was one of eight athletes to grace the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s annual Body Issue this week — having been photographed both while pregnant, and months later with her newborn daughter Scout.
I am a huge fan of the Body Issue every year, because naked athletes are a sight worth seeing. Not just because they’re hot, but because they give us something real to aspire to — the truth of what the body should look like when your focus is health and exercise — as opposed to dieting and posing. I also can’t get over how different sports craft different bodies. It’s pretty magnificent.
