And then the Groom did a kegstand.

(No, I wasn’t quick enough to get a picture.   But it happened.   And it was totally awesome.)  Amy and Magnus are married.   Four days is a whirlwind trip to New York but completely worth every second of airplane inflicted mucus bombs and cankles to get to see my beloved former roomie (and one of the best people I know) marry her Swedish Stallion.

Goose and Amy planned an amazing day – an outdoor picnic in Queens perfectly timed for the first day of spring (it was 71 degrees in NY!)   Checkered table cloths and badminton abound, people drank, danced, and ate their weight in bbq before feasting on homemade wedding cakes made to look like Swedish and American flags (with a rather impressive 747 shaped cake in between.)    It was an awesome day celebrating the union of an awesome couple.

A little background on the newlyweds:  These two people are just plain psychotic for each other.   They met one New Years when Magnus made his first visit to the US, and when he left a few days later, they were already in love.   Amy hightailed it to Sweden to see her Sweetie about a month later, and the rest is romance history.  I wish I’d taped Katie‘s toast…there’s no way I could do justice to her hilarious retelling of their first date (complete with Toto and “air keyboards”)…so instead, Goose and Amy, congratulations, this song’s for you.
