Well Hello, 3rd Trimester.

IMG_0911

She’s getting bigger, and so am I, but I’m still trying to stretch regular clothes over my giant bump.  (I trust someone will tell me when I look like I’m vying for a guest spot on My Name Is Earl.)   I can feel myself starting to slow down – exertion hits me a lot harder than it did a few months ago.   And yesterday, after elevating my feet and taking a long swim, I peed out 5 lbs of water weight.   No joke.   We better get this nursery going before I’m rendered totally useless.   Lucky for me I have a handy husband who’s a freaking workhorse [see Expedit Prison post.]

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Shhhh.
Stretch marks? I’m more beginning to wonder if there’s such a thing as “too much moisturizing.”
Sleep: I’ve been waking up at 5am for no good reason.   I keep trying to tell my subconscious there’s no reason to train for that – it’s going to happen all by itself soon enough.
Best moment this week: We can see her moving from the outside now.   It’s totally awesome, and totally freaky.
Movement: Yeah…see above.
Food cravings: Still in the throws of my torrid love affair with Cheeseburgers.
Gender: Girl.
Labor Signs: Happily not.
Belly Button in or out? In.
What I miss: Summer really makes me crave a Margarita.
What I am looking forward to: Nursery nursery nursery.
Weekly Wisdom: My stomach capacity is now encroaching on my lung capacity.  I constantly find myself weighing the benefits of eating vs. breathing.
Milestones: She kicked me in the rectum this week and thought I was gonna poop my pants.

WHOA, MAMA!!!! You look beautiful! I'm sad I am missing this time with you. In reading all your busy-body blogs, I hope that you, TAKE IT EASY. The nursery will get done in time. You will wake up when the little one needs you. Relax. As women, we are born to adapt. (I'll send Scott a six pack and my regards!)

I comment on this. Additionally, I think you waking up at 5 am is PERFECT if you're using the time to MATCH the decorations in the nursery.

Hi there! I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now (got the link from the bump). just wanted to say cute shirt!! :-) I saw my little one moving from the outside yesterday--totally weird!!

Congratulations! Don't worry about "My Name is Early;" despite the best efforts of a Twitter campaign, it has been cancelled.

omg! thats like me. I TOTALLY refused maternity clothes...other than black pants. you are a beautiful pregnant mama!! is my math work ok here...are you due end aug/begin sep? ohh the whole sleep thing was really annoying for me both times!! there came a point where I think I slept like 2 hours a night. I've been told that's 'mother natures' way of preparing your body to be up for the baby when she wakes up for feedings...I say forget that! Give me my rest NOW! My son woke every 2 hours for the first like 4/5 months I think...and I got wayyyy luckier with my little girl she has been sleeping 6 hours straight since she was a month old. There is no such thing as too much moisturizing, I'm with you on that! I was a nut. I did coco butter/ shea butter/ vitamin E oil all mixed together LOL . Congratulations on entering the 3rd!! :) I'm so excited for you and your family!!

Uhm, you owe me a keyboard. I just sprayed water everywhere after the rectum kick/near pants pooping.
