Modern Highchair Bonanza

31XJkjLt5vL._SS400_There are some pretty stunning high chairs out there right now, and as I drool over them, picturing one in my dining room, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites.    First (the chair that I dream about at night) is the Bloom Fresco Contemporary Chair. Reminiscent of Eero Aarnio’s Ball Chair, this swanky seat for your little one goes from a newborn lounger to a Toddler chair that pulls right up to your table.   Aside from loving how it looks, I’m also drawn to the fact that it’s molded plastic body leaves little room for food to get stuck, and I’ve heard it’s incredibly easy to clean.  (Also available from Bloom is the Loft version, which is basically the same, but raises up to countertop/bar height.)

Picture 7The Boon Flair Elite Pneumatic Pedestal Highchair is a similar (but slightly more cost effective) contemporary chair.   (Also available with a plastic base for about $80 less.) It shares the Fresco’s easy to clean design, with few cracks or crevices for food to lodge in, and it glides easily under your dining table, if you’d prefer not to use the removable tray.

41V+uYTX2CL._SS400_I love, love, love the Stokke Tripp Trapp®.   It comes in a variety of colors, and has tons of cute accessories and add-ons to assist the cleanly designed chair in accommodating sitters of all sizes, ranging from baby to grown up.   In it’s purest form, it’s meant to pull right up to the table so the little one can interact with the family at meal times (you might want to check out the Stokke Table Top if you want to go that route) although they’ve come out with an optional PlayTray if you prefer to keep your high chair self contained.

41aa5n3U3RL._SS500_If your modern tastes skew more Scandinavian than Contemporary, check out the Svan High Chair also available in an array of colors and finishes.   This chair makes my heart go pitter pat.   And as an added bonus, the Svan is made from Birch wood in a completely environmentally process.

ikeachairsLastly – my lineup of swanky high chairs wouldn’t be complete without the wallet-friendly option from my beloved Ikea.    Antilop (left) is priced at a stunning $19.99, and comes in white, blue, and red (all fabulous.)   The wooden Gulliver (right) is slightly pricier at $79.99, but looks strikingly like the elusive Nanna Ditzel chair that I featured a while back.

I came over from SITS because YOU'RE EARLY in roll call!
The name of your blog intrigued me, and your profile pic is lovely.
THEN I find out you're a pregnant mommy blogger. How exciting! (Laced with discomfort.)
Congratulations. Hang in there. All that.

These highchairs are the Living End.
I always had cool antique high chairs for my girls.
I do daycare, and until I got a tiny baby I still used my great wooden chair.
I bought an ordinary Graco chair. It accomodates different size kids. It reclines. It can sit high (at the table), or low (near a chair or sofa.)
I'm telling you this because every time I use it you'd think I invented the wheel. I love this Marvel of Modern Technology.
My antique chair stays (cuz it's beautiful), but grandchildren will get a Graco (or maybe something from your stylish selection.)

Cool post.

Have a nice weekend!

the two wood versions in the middle look kind of scary really.lol. ...and surprisingly, I really like that white Ikea one at the bottom. Of course, the first one wins the prize though.

Hi there! Just popping in from SITS. I love all of the chairs! I am currently vamping up an antique wooden chair for my sister's little girl. It's going to look similar to this one:

I have a love for modern high chairs, it is another odd thing I talk about even though I am not pregnant...yet

I love this! Although my baby is 8 and is almost as tall as me, I still find high chairs so adorable. And what a coincidence, he actually used the Antilop high chair in white when he was a wee baby. Thanks for sharing!

I love that first one.

Congrats on being the first sits commenter today!

Happy Monday! Stopping by from SITS. Your blog is so cute!

Seriously, I want that first highchair pictured FOR ME! It's so cute! It's so trendy! It's GOT TO BE THE CHAIR FOR MY UNBORN BABY! I swear, I don't need meds :)
