Have I told you how much Dee loves dancing? And we’re not talking about swaying and clapping. This girl like moves her feet and full-on DANCES…I mean, at least as well as some of the awkward rejects on SYTYCD.
Dee and I started music class this week, and, despite my excitement being at an all time high, the kiddo was NOT psyched (which, why would she be? Her fool of a Mom get her there ten minutes late so she had no chance to get acclimated) until our adorable teacher Saskia busted out the percussion for the “Jam Session.” {Have you ever seen a bunch of three-and-unders have a jam session to Bob Marley? It is pretty bad ass.}
Anyway, that’s when my little lady finally came out of her shell, sidled up next to her buddy Luca, and proceeded to GET DOWN. And when Delilah George gets down? Girlfriend gets down. Can’t wait to see what kind of performance she’s planning on treating us all to at the end of the spring session.
But anyway: Over the weekend Jessica was here doing some serious closet overhaulin’ (all of her knowledge to come via this week’s inevitably later PurgedayThursday) and when Jess proceeded to pull ALL OF MY SHOES OF OF THE CLOSET? {Which…shudder} Delilah just about lost her tiny mind. The girl is cuckoo for shoes. She’s very selective, she chooses both hers and mine every morning. So when all my ne’er-be-seen heels and boots emerged from the closet? This happened:
One more thing. Peggy Lee was not the original soundtrack to that little dance. No. It was none other than timeless stripper anthem POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME that prompted her to thrash around in heels and a diaper. Hold me.
I mean…you understand, right? The Mom in me just couldn’t bring myself to post a picture of my eighteen month old dancing to Def Leppard on the internet, no matter how hilarious the rest of me thought it was. But I also couldn’t NOT show you guys this girls moves, either – because I’m pretty sure that would like completely defeat the purpose of technology.
