That’s what a one year old defrosted top tier of a wedding cake looks like. (I put the cake topper back on it for kicks.) Today is the Hubs and I’s 1st anniversary. (Well, first wedding anniversary…and actually pretty close to the thirteen year anniversary of our fateful meeting in front of the Mountain Dew machine at Notre Dame high school – according to Scott, our friend Michelle introduced us, and I responded by saying “whatever.” I’m not sold on this version of the story. I just remember thinking he was cute, and admiring his dice-emblazoned creepers.) (Hey, it was a catholic school and we all wore uniforms. We took what we could get.)
Anyway, that’s 366 days of marital bliss (it was a leap year.) Cleverly, Scott got me a Papyrus plant, which just so happens to be my favorite plant, and work right in with the one year anniversary theme of “Paper” gifts. For his paper gift, I got him tickets to see the Dodgers (go blue) play the Cubs in the playoffs on Saturday (eat your heart out, Dezen) and we are super psyched about it.
That cake survived in my parents garage freezer for an entire year. Damn, I hope I don’t barf.
