What a week it’s been. I’ve taken my first trip to L&D, suffered a stomach virus, and actually, despite mood swings hitting me like a ton of bricks, made some real progress on our nursery (thanks to my ever-tolerant husband.) As usual, I continue to be a buffet of textbook pregnancy symptoms. My hormones are having a field day right now – the random inexplicable sob attacks that plagued my first trimester are back, but this time they’re quickly followed by giggle attacks (apparently this applies even when I’m sitting in the hospital getting my legs checked for killer clots by a guy who’s mustache rival’s Tom Selleck’s circa ’87.)
Anyway…here’s the update:
How far along? 31 weeks. Only 9 weekends left before I never get to sleep again.
Total weight gain/loss: By some miracle, I’ve actually lost 6 lbs.
Stretch marks? I feel like my puberty stretchies are threatening to blow but knocking on wood they don’t.
Sleep: When I’m not drowning in my own sweat, yes.
Best moment this week: Realizing the spare room now resembles a nursery more than an office. We were sitting in there last night and Scott just looked at me and said: “This is our daughter’s room.” I cried a little. Thanks Hormones.
Movement: I can almost make out body parts.
Food cravings: Mexican.
Gender: Girl.
Labor Signs: Apparently I was having regular contractions while I was on the monitor in the hospital, but I couldn’t feel them.
Belly Button in or out? In. But getting shallow-er by the day.
What I miss: Cute summer clothes.
What I am looking forward to: Finishing the nursery.
Weekly Wisdom: When your hormones are raging like mine are, it’s best to consider your words carefully.
Milestones: Scott’s finishing up the crib. He put it together in the nursery sans shelf, and I realized that my wonderful husband had built our daughter an heirloom. (more tears.)
