::bangs head on wall::

I’m clogged up today (nasally speaking,) and when you combine that with the most insane case of preggo cankles you’ve ever seen, and my inability to accept that maybe the extra *** lbs of baby hanging off the front of me would dictate that I shouldn’t have danced like there’d be no tomorrow at my cousin’s wedding a few nights ago, suffice it to say that I feel like a big pile of poo right now. (*** indicates that there’s no way in hell I’m ever copping to how many lbs I’ve packed on since I peed on that stick back in February.)

I know I’ve been conspicuously absent from the blog for the past week or so, but I’ve been in NY with my ENTIRE FAMILY and it’s been a little difficult to steal time away.  (I’m still here until tomorrow.)   Instead, I tried my hand at live-updating my facebook page and twitter accounts from my iPhone, but that came with it’s whole own set of unexpected consequences, and I don’t think I’ll be doing it again any time soon as I’m not quite comfortable with the idea of everyone I know being kept abreast of where I am and what I’m doing at any given moment.   Sometimes it’s better to hide in the shadows after all.

I’ll be backposting all about the adventures we’ve had in the big bad city (including Eva’s first trip to the great white way, and some really really really good pulled pork sandwiches) with plenty of other musings thrown in… being in NY and visiting my alma mater always makes me feel (extra) introspective and self-deprecating.   For now, I leave you with the above photo of sparkly red converse that reminded me of Ruby Slippers (in honor of my finally turning in the book adaptation that I had been working on for-fucking-ever) and some other snapshots of our trip – including a really weird painting that was staring me in the face over dinner last night which I’m pretty sure is a still life of a condom in a jar.

Anyway I gotta go.   My Mom is yelling at me to come downstairs and be polite.  (What planet am I on?)   Meanwhile I think I just saw the she-beast in my belly move from the outside for the first time…pretty crazy.
