Happy Birthday to my beautiful one year old niece Paloma, who also took her first steps today. Tomorrow, we’ll come bearing presents, I promise.
I didn’t get to be there when Paloma was born, but it’s been amazing watching her grow this past year, and watching Eva enthusiastically step in to her role as big sister. I don’t know what I would do without my big Sis, so I couldn’t be happier to see the two little girls I love most in the world embarking on their own adventure in sisterhood. And that they’ll be doing it in their peaceful new home with the tiny secret door leading to the attic hidden right in their closet, and Deer drinking from the creek they can see from their bedroom windows…it’s a far cry from the childhood Marissa and I shared in the hot dry Valley flats of LA, and I hope it’s a wonderful one.
And since I can’t resist bragging about both my beautiful nieces, there’s a pic of little miss Eva, (Lo’s big Sis) hamming it up from the same day of photos.
And now, for you Lolo:
